All Children in the United States have a right to free public education, regardless of immigration status.

In Denver Public Schools: DPS does not and cannot collect the immigration status of our families. Federal immigration law enforcement activities are not permitted at DPS schools, on transportation routes, on DPS property, or during school activities.

Pull the car over and turn it off. Put your hands on the steering wheel where an officer can see them.

Provide your license, registration, and proof of insurance. If you do not have a license or registration do not provide false documents or lie.

If an officer asks to search your car, you can say “I do not consent to a search.”

You have the right to remain silent. Do not provide any information about your immigration status.

If arrested, ask to speak to your attorney.

If arrested ask to speak to your attorney.

Ask to see a warrant signed by a judge. If officers do not have a warrant, you can ask them to leave.

If officers have a warrant, ask immigration officials to slide it under the door, put it up to the window, or slide it through the window. Again, do not open the door. Warrant must be signed by a judge.

If officers enter your home, you have the right to remain silent. Do not provide any information about your immigration status. State “I wish to remain silent.”

Write down as many details as possible when it is safe to do so.
